01 · Context

Curcucho opened in 2024 as a quiet neighbourhood café in San Borja. Three shifts of rotating baristas, a chalkboard menu, a small loyal local crowd. Late in 2025 the owner wrote to us with a problem that is simple to state and hard to solve: the block had shifted. Two new cafés had opened within 200 metres, one of them foreign-capitalised and running active Meta Ads.

The graphic identity Curcucho had — good but borrowed, a Canva template adapted by a friend — could no longer hold the difference. The site lived on a Wix with blurry photos, no updated menu, and a half-filled Google Business Profile. When the new competition told its story with money, there was no story ready to answer.

02 · Approach

We started where the purchase decision actually happens: Google Business Profile, the online menu, and the first mobile impression. Rewrote the description, uploaded new photos of the bean and the process, and synced opening hours with reality (yes, they close on Tuesdays).

The identity was rebuilt in parallel — nothing strident, a serif typeface with a history and a palette that answers to the colour of espresso and filter-paper kraft. The new site is static, loads in under one second on 4G, and is built so the owner can edit the menu without calling us.

Sereno enters in the third week: a WhatsApp brief every Monday with three direct-competitor moves (prices, hours, new reviews) and one concrete recommendation for the week. Cheap to run, quick to read, anchored in verifiable public data.
